Sometimes the most disruptive innovation is wrapped around the most ordinary product. Mimpi, a Jakarta based (tech) startup who works with sleep, reinvented the mattress. The product, designed in Belgium and manufactured entirely in Indonesia, is made with a combination of latex foam, memory foam, high resilience foam and polyurethane foam. It compresses for shipping into a box and can be easily delivered into your house or apartment.

Interestingly, unlike other furniture companies and mattress brands who own their own offline stores, Mimpi sells its products exclusively online. With this method, Mimpi keeps the quality high and the prices affordable by cutting out the middleman. Based on Mimpi’s calculation, Mimpi sells mattresses at only a third of the usual price in offline stores.
